One
evening in the fall of 2000, Brooke and Chuck Packevicz and Linda and John
Quesnel were sitting around a table at an afterglow.
They experimented with putting two male and two female voices
together and found that it resulted in a remarkably exciting sound.
This was the beginning of “P’s & Q’s”.
The
P’s & Q’s collectively have more than 120 years of Barbershop
singing experience. Among
their many individual accomplishments are numerous quartet and chorus
championships, International contest appearances, chorus directing,
coaching, and a fifth place International quartet medal.
In this mix of voices, each
singer is challenged to sing a different part from what he or she normally
sings. Brooke, who is usually a bass, sings lead – John, a
baritone, sings bass – Chuck, a versatile tenor, sings baritone – and
Linda has moved up from lead to tenor.
At
various times during the year, The P’s & Q’s reside in Rhode
Island, Cape Cod, New York and Florida.
They have entertained audiences from New England to Florida, and
are featured in a guest performance on the recently-released Coastline
Show Chorus CD. P’s &
Q’s hope you will enjoy their unique style of Barbershop harmony.
Joe Connelly, Three time
International Quartet Champion and our Coach, writes: "You will be
hard pressed to find a richer, fuller mixed quartet sound anywhere on the
planet! I'm sure you will enjoy their Big, chord-bustin', wall-to-wall
sound. Keep up the great
singing!"
To quote (Doc) Richard Sause,
baritone of the 1967 International Champion Four Statesmen: “You’ve
gotta hear this group…my favorite mixed quartet!"
And from Frank Lanza, tenor of
the 1967 International Champion Four Statesmen:
"These guys are having too much fun, wow what a
sound!"
